Senior Product Marketing Manager – Cardiac Surgery & Structural Heart
Medical Device Recruiters is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Senior Product Manager with a background in Cardiac Surgery, Structural Heart, or Cardiovascular Medical Devices. This is not a general product management role. We are seeking someone who has successfully marketed and commercialized medical devices used in the operating room, open heart surgery, or cath lab environment.
Our client is a global leader in the design, development, manufacturing, and commercialization of innovative medical technologies. With a reputation for investing heavily in research, surgeon education, and product innovation, the company is launching an exciting new Cardiac Surgery business unit backed by significant executive support and resources.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the strategy, development, and commercialization of a growing portfolio of products designed for open heart and cardiac surgical procedures.
Position Summary: The Senior Product Manager will lead both upstream and downstream marketing activities for a portfolio of cardiac surgery products. This individual will work cross-functionally with R&D, Medical Education, Clinical Affairs, Sales, Regulatory, Operations, and executive leadership to drive product strategy from concept through commercialization and continued market growth.
The ideal candidate is an experienced product marketing leader with a proven track record of successfully bringing new medical devices to market and executing impactful product launches within the Cardiac Surgery, Structural Heart, or Cardiovascular markets.
Responsibilities
- Lead upstream marketing initiatives including market research, voice of customer, competitive analysis, product strategy, business case development, and product roadmap planning.
- Partner with engineering and cross-functional development teams to define product requirements and guide new product development programs.
- Drive downstream marketing activities including product launches, commercialization strategy, sales enablement, market adoption, promotional campaigns, and lifecycle management.
- Develop and execute comprehensive launch plans for new products, ensuring successful global commercialization.
- Collaborate with surgeon customers, key opinion leaders, and clinical advisors to identify unmet needs and validate product concepts.
- Create product positioning, messaging, value propositions, and marketing collateral.
- Support Medical Education by developing educational programs, procedural training materials, and product training initiatives.
- Partner closely with the commercial organization to support product adoption, field feedback, and long-term portfolio growth.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback to identify future opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced clinical/business degree preferred.
- 5-10 years of medical device product marketing experience with significant responsibility in both upstream and downstream marketing.
- Demonstrated success leading new product development programs from concept through commercial launch.
- Multiple successful product launches with measurable commercial impact.
- Strong experience within Cardiac Surgery, including open heart procedures and related surgical technologies.
- Proven ability to work effectively with engineering, clinical, commercial, and executive leadership teams.
- Experience developing surgeon education initiatives and working directly with physician customers and key opinion leaders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel 20%-30%
