Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate data professionals to join our team of adjunct instructors. We are accepting applications from individuals who meet our minimum qualifications and can provide instruction within the area of Business Information Technology.
We are specifically seeking instructors to teach one or more of the following courses:
- Term 1, beginning January 2027: Data Concepts or Intro to SQL
- Term 2, beginning March 2027: Database Administration
Applicants do not need to be available to teach courses in both terms.
Pay will vary by course being taught.Under the direct supervision of the Associate Dean/Instructional Manager, the instructor is responsible for providing instruction to students within the assigned and approved instructional delivery system and in accordance with the mission, goals, policies and procedures of the District. The instructor is responsible for providing an active learning environment to enable students to demonstrate course competencies and creating a student learning centered environment that places learning at the center of educational experiences in our classroom on the Pewaukee Campus.
The subject-matter expert will support students within our growing data & analytics degree program and ideally have five or more years of industry experience in database, data & analytics. While experience teaching or conducting training programs is beneficial, it is not a requirement.
This position requires strong organizational skills, communication skills and the ability to effectively deliver practical hands-on instruction. Must be accessible to students and maintain positive relationships with industry-related organizations and businesses. Must be willing to teach traditional, accelerated and Zoom courses in the evening.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements
- Ability to deliver instruction using active learning methods which accommodate different learning styles including online modalities.
- Ability to plan, select, prepare and implement appropriate active learning activities to meet all course competencies.
- Good oral/written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain competency in the occupational field.
- Demonstrated ability and experience working with diverse populations.
- Working knowledge of computer concepts and incorporation of technology in the learning environment.
- Data Specific knowledge requirements include:
- For Data Concepts: 3+ years data experience, with knowledge of Excel, Power BI, Access reporting, and basic data literacy skills.
- For Intro to SQL: 3+ years working with SQL required, SQL Server preferred.
- For Database Administration: 3+ years managing SQL Server databases and servers, with both on-prem and Azure experience as well as basic Windows Server management skills desired.
- Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field, Master’s preferred
- Twenty-four months (4000 hours) of verifiable occupational experience; Occupational area, of which 2,000 hours shall be within the previous five years. One year (2000 hours) of related experience in the appropriate field may be waived if the occupational instructor has at least two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the occupational field within the last five years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience is desirable.

This position is Part Time (under 20 hrs./week) and teaches only when school is in session; Hours and times may vary depending on when courses are being taught.
