PRN House Supervisor

Essential Responsibilities:

• Supervises nursing areas with consideration for safety in all aspects of patient care and employee working conditions.
• Provides and seeks guidance as necessary in legal issues in all aspects of patient care and strives to manage situations in a reduced risk manner.
• Leads and participates in various levels of committees, meetings and continuous quality improvement.
• Participates in development and compliance of policies and all applicable standards for the Department of Nursing as established by regulatory agencies.
• Promotes staff development, encourages learning, and assists personnel in meeting goals and objectives.
• Determines staffing requirements and as appropriate, collaborates with directors and staffing office to ensure staffing levels for all levels.
• Mentors, develops and trains new staff and students.
• Serves as population newborn through geriatric
• Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.
• Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Required License/Certifications/Registrations

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kansas.
• Current BLS card within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation, whichever comes first. Acceptable courses are American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Education and Experience

• BSN.
• Previous supervisor/management experience.

Preferred License/Certifications/Registrations

• None

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to apply the basic principles of nursing.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
• Keyboarding skills and basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Medium Work: Occasionally exerting up to 50 lbs - constantly exerting up to 10 lbs. 26-50% of the day may be standing or walking. ​
