A taste of what the role entails

As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll lead design initiatives within your product area and work across the full product lifecycle, from discovery and research through to delivery and continuous improvement.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to shape connected digital experiences that deliver meaningful outcomes for our customers and our business. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs, uncover opportunities, influence product priorities, and bring intuitive, accessible solutions to life.

At Belong, we're committed to delivering inspired, effortless human connection. You'll join the Digital Experience Chapter, working alongside other Product Designers across multiple product teams to create better outcomes for customers and the business.

This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity.

Your key responsibilities include: 

• Partner with cross-functional product teams to solve complex customer problems.

• Plan and conduct customer research, synthesise insights, and use behavioural data, feedback, and experimentation to guide decisions.

• Translate insights into intuitive, accessible, and effective digital experiences.

• Apply systems thinking across end-to-end customer journeys, interconnected experiences, and the broader product ecosystem.

• Influence product direction, roadmap discussions, and prioritisation through evidence-based recommendations.

• Facilitate workshops, design critiques, and stakeholder alignment sessions.

• Contribute to and evolve design systems to create consistent, scalable, and accessible experiences.

• Measure the effectiveness of design solutions using customer, behavioural, and business metrics.

• Navigate ambiguity and trade-offs while balancing customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints.

• Support the growth of the design practice through knowledge sharing, informal mentoring, and advocacy for customer-centred design.

About you

You’re an experienced Product Designer who enjoys making sense of complex problems and creating clarity in ambiguous situations. You combine strong design craft with systems thinking and use evidence, curiosity, and collaboration to drive better outcomes.

You’re motivated by creating meaningful customer impact and contributing to a collaborative design culture where people share ideas, challenge thinking, and learn from one another.

To succeed in this role, you must have the following qualifications:

Systems and Tools:

Essential:

• Demonstrated experience designing digital products and experiences from discovery through to delivery.

• Experience designing across end-to-end customer journeys rather than focusing only on individual screens or features.

• Experience facilitating workshops, design critiques, and stakeholder alignment activities.

• The ability to influence product direction and prioritisation through customer insights and evidence-based recommendations.

• The ability to articulate measurable customer and business outcomes.

• Experience using customer research and testing tools to generate insights, validate concepts, and inform design decisions (e.g., usability testing, customer feedback platforms, analytics, and experimentation tools).

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify opportunities in ambiguous environments.

• Experience working with and contributing to design systems.

• Experience evaluating design effectiveness and using insights to support continuous improvement.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to work in cross-functional agile product teams.  

 

Highly desirable 

• Experience designing native mobile products. 

• Experience using AI-enabled tools to support design, research, or delivery workflows. 

• Confidence using behavioural data, experimentation, and customer feedback to validate opportunities and solutions. 

• Informal mentoring or coaching experience, with a genuine interest in helping others grow.
