This role owns product strategy and execution for the assigned area and partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, User Experience, Analytics, Patient Safety, and customer-facing teams to translate customer and business needs into measurable product outcomes. This is a hybrid role based on Boston, MA. This role reports to an Executive Director, Product Management within the athenaClinicals subdivision.
About the Team:
The Services & Tasks team develops efficient, intuitive experiences that help healthcare providers manage clinical work and deliver high-quality patient care. The team brings together curious and passionate professionals across Product Management, Engineering, User Experience, Analytics, and Patient Safety to understand user needs and build scalable solutions. Team members also partner with Sales, Customer Success, Onboarding, Product Marketing, and other groups to support successful product development, launch, and adoption. The team uses Agile product development practices, customer and market insights, data and experimentation, and AI-enabled tools to inform product decisions and measure outcomes.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Develop a deep understanding of customer and user needs, market dynamics, clinical workflows, and business value to identify and prioritize product opportunities.
Own product strategy and execution for the assigned product area, including prioritization, backlog allocation, trade-off decisions, and multi-release roadmap development in partnership with Product Management leaders.
Serve as Product Owner for assigned Scrum teams, defining priorities and making informed decisions about scope, sequencing, and delivery.
Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, including product strategy, problem framing, requirements definition, user experience, objectives and key results, delivery, and measurement of customer and business outcomes.
Define epics, user stories, and business requirements in partnership with User Experience and Engineering, clearly connecting proposed solutions to customer and business problems.
Analyze product data, customer feedback, and success measures to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and inform product decisions.
Design appropriate experiments, alpha or beta releases, and other validation approaches to assess customer value and product-market fit before broader rollout.
Evaluate AI-enabled product capabilities by translating user needs into appropriate measures for accuracy, bias, data quality, safety, and product performance, and establish responsible rollout and monitoring approaches.
Integrate AI tools and AI-enabled methods into product discovery and development workflows, evaluate where they can improve activities such as requirements development, feedback synthesis, prototyping, and analysis, and guide partners in applying appropriate human judgment and review.
Align cross-functional stakeholders on product priorities, dependencies, trade-offs, launch plans, and customer communication in partnership with teams such as Sales, Customer Success, Onboarding, and Product Marketing.
Additional Job Responsibilities:
Contribute product knowledge and experience to strengthen product management practices and support the development of colleagues.
Partner with customer-facing teams to gather insights and determine effective approaches for communicating product capabilities and changes to customers.
Communicate product strategy, priorities, progress, outcomes, and risks to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
Collaborate with Product Management peers to identify dependencies and coordinate work across related product areas.
Support continuous improvement of product development processes, measurement practices, and team workflows.
Expected Education & Experience:
8+ years of overall professional experience, including at least 4 years of product management experience.
Experience serving as a Product Manager or Product Owner within Agile or Scrum product development teams.
Experience leading products or significant product capabilities through discovery, development, launch, measurement, and iteration.

Experience defining and using product metrics, experiments, or other validation methods to assess customer value and inform product decisions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating with senior leaders, cross-functional stakeholders, and customers.
Ability to build alignment across multiple stakeholders, manage product dependencies, and make informed trade-offs among customer needs, business objectives, scope, and delivery considerations.
Experience using AI-enabled tools to support product management activities such as drafting requirements, synthesizing customer feedback, developing specifications, prototyping, or analyzing data, with appropriate human review and validation.
