Position Summary

The Airport Lounge Janitor & Facilities Maintenance team member is responsible for helping maintain a clean, polished, and guest-ready lounge environment for premium airline passengers.

This role supports both guest-facing and back-of-house areas by following cleaning schedules, maintaining restrooms and common areas, handling supplies and chemicals safely, and reporting facility concerns promptly.

This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, physically active, and takes pride in creating a clean and professional environment.

Reports To: Lounge Supervisor / Operations Manager
Location: IAH Airport / Terminal D
Schedule: Flexible shifts may vary based on business needs
Availability: Airport lounge operations may run 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays

Essential Functions

• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of guest-facing lounge areas, restrooms, common areas, and back-of-house spaces
• Follow hourly restroom cleaning and restocking schedules
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks according to the Master Cleaning Schedule
• Perform deep-cleaning and special projects as assigned
• Clean floors, surfaces, windows, high-touch areas, and other assigned areas
• Remove trash and maintain clean, organized waste areas
• Restock restroom supplies, cleaning supplies, and other assigned items as needed.
• Safely handle cleaning chemicals and follow proper dilution instructions
• Use required personal protective equipment, including gloves and other safety gear
• Follow food safety procedures when cleaning near buffet, dining, or culinary areas
• Maintain janitorial closets, storage areas, tools, and supplies in a clean and organized manner
• Report low supplies, broken equipment, leaks, damage, or facility concerns to leadership promptly
• Maintain a clean uniform and professional appearance while working in guest-facing areas
• Support the lounge team as needed to maintain a polished, high-standard environment

Requirements

Requirements 

• Previous janitorial, housekeeping, facilities, custodial, hotel, airport, restaurant, or commercial cleaning experience preferred
• English proficiency required; must be able to understand safety instructions, cleaning procedures, chemical labels, and operational communication 
• Ability to follow cleaning schedules, safety procedures, and supervisor instructions accurately 
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean spaces Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently 
• Ability to remain professional in a premium airport lounge environment Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and move throughout the shift 
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed 
• Comfortable working with professional-grade cleaning products and following safety data sheets 
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays 
• Ability to pass required background check, drug screening, airport badging, TSA, U.S. Customs, and/or airport security clearance requirements as applicable 

Physical Requirements 

• This is an active, hands-on role that requires frequent movement throughout the shift. 
• Team members may be required to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry supplies, remove trash, and use cleaning tools or equipment.
