Description
Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is searching for a Senior Software Automated Tester in support of United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) and Combat Forces Command (CFC) Defensive Cyber Operations. Seeking an experienced Test Automation Engineer to design, build, and execute automated test solutions for cybersecurity applications in a mission-focused defense environment. This role partners closely with development and security teams to improve software quality, reduce risk, and support compliance in an Agile/SAFe delivery model. Role and Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for cybersecurity applications Execute automated functional, regression, integration, and system tests Perform compliance testing and document results in accordance with program and security requirements Collaborate with developers, security engineers, and stakeholders to identify defects, reproduce issues, and verify fixes Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and report findings using Jira and Confluence Contribute to test process improvement within Scrum ceremonies and SAFe practices Use Selenium, TASER, GitLab (or equivalent source control), and related tooling to support continuous testing Required: Hands-on experience with Python or another structured language (Java or C#) Working knowledge of GitLab or another code repository Strong understanding of software testing principles, including unit, integration, system, and regression testing Experience analyzing test results, identifying defects, and troubleshooting Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Effective written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to work with developers and cross-functional stakeholders Must obtain SAFe for Teams, ISTQB Test Automation Engineer, Agile Technical Tester, and Implementing Test Process Improvement certifications within 12 months of start date Desired: Prior experience testing cybersecurity or DoD applications Experience with penetration testing or vulnerability assessment activities in support of development teams Existing SAFe, ISTQB, or related testing certifications Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Software Development, or a related STEM field and 18 years of relevant professional experience; or Master’s degree in one of the same fields and 10 years of relevant professional experience Clearance Requirements: Active DoD Secret clearance required Top Secret with SCI eligibility highly desired Location/Travel Requirements : Place of work is Colorado Springs; remote work opportunity is limited. You may be required to travel periodically, less than 10%. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $140,000/year to $160,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
