The Master Data Steward partners with business stakeholders to drive Master Data governance, data quality, compliance, and adherence to agreed standards across assigned markets and domains. Working closely with MDM leadership, Data Owners, and Master Data Operations, the role supports governance execution, stakeholder alignment, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.

 

This position is being hired to strengthen current APAC Master Data governance capabilities. As the APAC MDM Target Operating Model (TOM) continues to evolve, the reporting line, scope, responsibilities, and job grade may be reviewed and adjusted accordingly.

 

Responsibilities:

• Apply and sustain master data governance frameworks, policies, standards, controls, and ownership models across assigned markets and domains, ensuring compliance with regulatory, audit, internal control, data privacy, and cross-border data transfer requirements while adapting global standards to local business needs.
• Support regional and global initiatives, system changes, integrations, and process harmonisation by assessing business impacts, defining master data requirements, coordinating stakeholder readiness, and ensuring governance decisions are documented and embedded into ways of working.
• Support communication, training material updates, and user adoption activities to ensure governance changes are understood and embedded by key users and approval stakeholders.
• Act as the trusted governance partner across business functions, market teams, MDM operations, regional leadership, and global data owners, facilitating alignment on data requirements, governance decisions, compliance expectations, and operational execution.
• Escalate unresolved governance, ownership, compliance, or data quality decisions through appropriate business and MDM governance forums.
• Define, monitor, and improve data quality through KPI tracking, preventive controls, root cause analysis, remediation actions, SLA governance, audit follow-up, and continuous reinforcement of first-time-right data practices
• Identify governance and data quality improvement opportunities and partner with Solutions & Enablement to translate business requirements into process, workflow, reporting, and automation solutions, ensuring standardisation and governance controls are established prior to automation. Solutions & Enablement remains accountable for technical design and delivery.

• End-to-end exposure to Master Data governance across multiple APAC markets, business functions, and data domains.
• Partner with regional and global stakeholders, including Data Owners, MDM leaders, operations teams, and business leaders, to drive data governance and quality initiatives.
• Develop expertise in data governance frameworks, compliance, data quality management, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
• You'll play a key role in influencing how data is governed, managed, and leveraged across the organization while gaining broad exposure to cross-functional operations and strategic initiatives.
• Gain exposure to transformation, process harmonization, and automation initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence.
• Build a strong foundation in enterprise data management within a dynamic and evolving APAC shared services environment.

About You

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

• A degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Management, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, Shared Services, Finance Operations, Supply Chain Operations, or a similar environment where data accuracy and governance are critical to business success.
• Hands-on experience driving governance processes, data stewardship, data quality initiatives, compliance controls, or operational improvement programs.
• Exposure to multinational organizations or shared services environments, with an appreciation for balancing global standards and local business needs.

• Communicate confidently with both operational teams and senior business leaders, translating governance requirements into practical actions and outcomes.
