Overview
As a Technical Services Analyst, Biomed, you will be responsible for assisting end users with technical issues or questions relating to computer hardware or software devices, with a primary focus on biomedical (patient testing) equipment. Duties include taking phone calls from end users or communicating with them through messaging platforms, helping users diagnose technical issues over the phone and speaking with them about installing hardware or software on their computers.
The Technical Services Analyst, Biomed will have a day to day focus on troubleshooting and problem resolution. They will assist staff and physicians in the day-to-day support of systems and the use of biomedical testing equipment, systems, computers, and other devices in AVP operated clinics, surgery centers, and administrative offices. (Occasional travel required). They will participate in the deployment and training of new or upgraded systems as requested. They will maintain documentation for support problems with resolutions, and provide training to the end user community.
Responsibilities
- Ensure biomedical testing equipment interfaces with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, application servers, and other specialty software
- Assist staff with the configuration, set up, install, and support of biomedical testing equipment, desktops, laptops, other endpoints, and peripheral devices in a network environment
- Assist or perform other projects or duties under the guidance of the Technical Services Supervisor Biomed
- Resolve biomedical testing equipment service issues and ensure that clinical capability is restored as quickly as possible. Maintain communication with users regarding the status of service
- Enter, update and follow up with service requests in IT support request/management system
- Escalate major hardware or software issues and defective products to vendors for service
- Meet in-person with users to analyze, troubleshoot and diagnose hardware problems
- Provide basic training/support in accessing the network and proper use of hardware and software applications
- Document all work performed and maintain documentation associated with specialty equipment
- Perform quarterly self-assessments as directed by Technical Services Supervisor Biomed
- Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues in IT other departments
- Complete all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of American Vision Partners policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Required. Technical school/A+ certification highly preferred
- 2+ years experience supporting Windows and other Microsoft products on various device types
- 1+ years experience using or supporting biomedical testing equipment
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Reliable transportation, current driver’s license and registration required
- Ability to work over 40 hours a week or weekends if business needs require.
