Role Description
Arcadis is looking for a Water Wastewater Engineer / Project Manager with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our team in Tampa, Florida.
We are seeking a motivated, collaborative, and technically strong professional who is interested in delivering sustainable solutions to complex water and wastewater challenges. This role offers significant opportunities for growth and development, allowing you to work alongside experienced water professionals while supporting project delivery, managing client relationships, coordinating project activities, and expanding your technical and project management capabilities.
Role Accountabilities
The Water/Wastewater Engineer / Project Manager will support and manage projects involving the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities, distribution and collection systems, pump stations, lift stations, and related infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, project teams, and technical specialists to deliver high-quality projects on schedule and within budget.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting and managing water and wastewater engineering projects through planning, design, permitting, and construction phases.
- Preparing engineering evaluations, technical reports, design calculations, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents.
- Coordinating with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams to support successful project delivery.
- Assisting with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource coordination, and overall project management activities.
The successful candidate will also contribute to proposal development, participate in client meetings, support business development efforts, and help maintain strong client relationships. They will ensure that project deliverables meet Arcadis quality standards and client expectations while supporting the growth of our regional water practice.
Some travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, construction observation, safety audits, and project coordination activities.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in water, wastewater, and/or stormwater engineering within a consulting environment.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
Key Skills/Abilities
The ideal candidate possesses strong technical, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. Experience with engineering design software and AutoCAD is preferred, along with the ability to prepare technical reports, presentations, and client deliverables. Candidates should demonstrate sound engineering judgment, strong organizational skills, and an interest in developing project management responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science or Master of Engineering degree in a related discipline.
- Experience serving municipal water and wastewater clients.
- Design experience related to water and wastewater treatment facilities, distribution and collection systems, pump stations, or storage facilities.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure.
- Previous project coordination or project management experience, including managing scope, budget, schedule, and client communications. Active participation in regional or national professional organizations associated with the water industry is preferred.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $75,240 - $112,860/year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
