Customer Services Package Refurbishment and Upgrades (PRU) Engineering provides engineered solutions in support of the execution of the aftermarket business. The Mechanical Design Engineer (MDE) is responsible for the design of turbine and driven-equipment mechanical system retrofits and upgrades. The incumbent will work as part of a project team led by Customer Services Project Management to execute orders ranging from minor package system upgrades to complete refurbishment of entire packages.
This position collaborates with engineering, fabrication, assembly operations, logistics, and field installation personnel to ensure that project designs are of high quality, safe, and cost-effective. The role often requires independently gathering and analyzing relevant data, identifying project issues, and defining them in engineering terms with minimal technical direction. Facilitating design reviews with peers and team members is also an important aspect of this position.
The successful candidate must be thorough, organized, detail-oriented, and able to communicate concepts and ideas concisely. They must possess the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet demanding deadlines and project schedule commitments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to keep project team members informed of project-related issues and challenges. Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative mindset are essential.
Minimum Qualifications
- Engineering degree.
- 1+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with SolidWorks, Promis-e, and/or Creo.
- Understanding of mechanical system engineering, including starting, fuel, air, lubrication, sealing, and enclosure systems.
- Experience with interconnect design (piping, tubing, and electrical systems).
- Experience preparing documentation required by regulatory authorities, including CE marking, Declarations of Conformity, and ATEX compliance.
- Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective action processes.
- Good technical English is required. Knowledge of Italian and German would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Configure standard products according to project requirements.
- Generate purchase orders for standard components and extended-scope items.
- Specify, research, evaluate, and select special components.
- Prepare parts lists and manufacturing documentation, and provide follow-up support to production teams.
- Develop functional descriptions and project-specific manuals, and finalize project documentation.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with gas turbine OEMs and/or service providers such as Siemens, GE Vernova (formerly GE/Baker Hughes), Ethos, or Kawasaki.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas and/or Power Generation industries is preferred.
Base Minimum Pay:
Kč614,304.00

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
