Description
The National Operations Manager, Employee Benefits, serves as a recognized subject matter expert responsible for driving operational excellence and consistency across the Employee Benefits segment nationwide. This role focuses on optimizing workflows, ensuring compliance, and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and client experience. Operating with significant autonomy, the incumbent partners with regional leaders, technology teams, and senior management to influence enterprise-level operational strategies and lead process improvement initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement national standards and best practices for Employee Benefits operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Identify inefficiencies and lead initiatives to streamline workflows, improve accuracy, and enhance productivity across regions.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and audit standards; monitor risk and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with IT and business leaders to optimize agency management systems and leverage automation tools for operational efficiency.
- Establish KPIs and reporting dashboards to measure operational effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with regional operations leaders, client service teams, and senior management to align operational initiatives with business objectives.
- Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to regional teams on operational policies, procedures, and system utilization.
- Lead operational integration efforts during mergers, acquisitions, or organizational restructuring.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of operational best practices and process improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret data and drive decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with agency management platforms.
- Ability to influence and lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field
- 6–8 years in insurance brokerage operations, with demonstrated expertise in Employee Benefits and process improvement.
- Strong understanding of employee benefits workflows, compliance requirements, and agency management systems.
- Experience with national or multi-regional operational oversight and change management initiatives.
