Security Services
The Security Services Unit in a hospital setting is dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and assets. This unit operates 24/7 and is integral to ensure the hospital functions smoothly while addressing emergencies, preventing unauthorized access, and responding to incidents swiftly and effectively.
The Security Officer II helps maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, and hospital property. This role patrols assigned areas, monitors security systems, responds to incidents and emergencies, enforces hospital policies, conducts investigations, and provides crisis intervention when appropriate. The Security Officer II also assists with training team members, supports departmental operations, and collaborates with leadership to promote a safe and secure healthcare environment. Flexibility to work various shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments is required.
Job Description:
Patrol hospital property to maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and requests for assistance.
Conduct investigations, complete incident reports, and document security activities accurately.
Monitor CCTV, alarms, radio communications, and access control systems.
Enforce hospital policies, address safety concerns, and coordinate with law enforcement when appropriate.
Perform dispatch responsibilities, including prioritizing calls and coordinating security responses.
Assist with parking enforcement, helipad operations, lost and found, and other security support services.
Identify and correct safety and security hazards during routine patrols.
Communicate effectively with leadership and team members while maintaining professionalism and exceptional customer service.
Participate in required training and support departmental operations as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
Driver’s License (no violations 2 years)
Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) with International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety certification preferred not required.
