Description
As a Metal Accountant, you’ll join a world leader in platinum group metals with over 200 years of history and innovation. The role:
As a Metal Accountant, you will help drive our goals by:
- Prepare and maintain accurate precious metal accounting records, including monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and Metal Trial Balance reporting.
- Monitor and reconcile metal inventories, hedging activities, customer metal balances, and coverage processes to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Supply Chain, and global business teams to identify metal requirements, manage metal borrowing/hedging activities, and support intercompany transactions.
- Manage precious metal working capital and inventory processes, including stock takes, forecasting inputs, and analysis of metal variances.
- Support audit and compliance activities by ensuring timely resolution of metal-related findings, accurate process order closures, and adherence to internal controls.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
- University degree qualification
- Accounting Standards Ability to apply knowledge of applicable Accounting Standards and Cost
- Microsoft Office and knowledge of SAP
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Significant experience embedding compliance to accounting policies and controls in a global organization
- Ability to work collaboratively and provide appropriate challenge and insight, often under time pressure
