Overview
Works with the flight paramedic and other medical crew members in the transport and care of critically ill or injured patients. Assesses, manages, and treats patients during air or ground transport.
Responsibilities
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred.
- 3 years of full time critical care/emergency nursing experience in the care of adult and pediatric patients.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively as member of multi-disciplinary team.
- Prior experience in tertiary ICU and ED, pre-hospital care experience, pediatric critical care experience, CFRN required within 18 months, Nationally Registered Paramedic preferred.
- Previous critical care transport experience and public speaking experience.
- Must meet crew weight standard: 100 kilos or less, transport ready, in uniform.
Required Licensure/Certifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse with NH eligibility
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in NH or Emergency Medical Technician Advanced (AEMT) in NH within 6 months of hire.
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in VT or EMT Advanced (AEMT) in VT within 6 months of hire.
- Nationally Registered EMT or AEMT (NREMT) within 6 months of hire and maintain current certification.
- Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) within 18 months of hire and maintain current certification.
- Online Transport Professional Advanced Trauma Course (TPATC) OR Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) OR Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS-ACS) or Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) OR Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) within one year of hire and maintain current certification.
- BLS on hire and maintain current certification.
- (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current certification.
- (PALS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support upon hire and maintain current certification.
- (NRP) Neonatal Resuscitation Provider within one year of hire date and maintain current certification.
