Job Summary

Our client in the Travel & Logistics industry is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Sales Manager to lead sales activities, strengthen key client relationships, and drive sustainable revenue growth.The successful candidate will be a highly independent sales professional with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and an established portfolio of corporate clients and business relationships. The role requires a strong business developer who can generate new opportunities, grow existing accounts, lead the sales team with minimal supervision, and translate market opportunities into measurable revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with the company's revenue and business growth objectives.
  • Lead the achievement of sales targets and continuously identify opportunities to increase revenue.
  • Leverage an established network of corporate clients and business relationships to generate immediate business opportunities.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new corporate clients across relevant market segments.
  • Manage and expand existing client accounts to strengthen retention and increase revenue opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, decision makers, partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Lead, guide, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and overall business targets.
  • Establish clear sales targets, priorities, and performance expectations for the sales team.
  • Manage the sales function independently with minimal day to day supervision.
  • Monitor sales pipelines, leads, conversion rates, client activity, and revenue performance.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, performance reports, and market updates for management.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and support the preparation of proposals, quotations, and client presentations.
  • Identify cross selling and upselling opportunities across travel and logistics services.
  • Monitor market trends, customer requirements, competitor activities, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Work closely with operations and other internal teams to ensure commitments made to clients are delivered effectively.
  • Represent the company professionally during client meetings, networking activities, and relevant business engagements.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant sales and business development experience, with demonstrated experience in a sales leadership or management role.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales and revenue targets.
  • Must have a strong and established portfolio of corporate clients and business relationships with the potential to generate business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire new clients while successfully managing and growing existing accounts.
  • Strong business development, client acquisition, and account management capabilities.
  • Ability to lead and manage a sales team independently with minimal supervision and limited day to day micromanagement.
  • Strong strategic planning, commercial negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Results oriented mindset with a strong focus on revenue generation and measurable business growth.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, networking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of the Tanzanian corporate business environment and B2B sales landscape.
  • Experience within the Travel, Logistics, or related service industry will be a strong added advantage.
  • Good command of English and Kiswahili, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant sales or CRM tools.
