SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES
It is the responsibility of the Asset Based Lending Sales Associate/Analyst to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of their assigned position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Asset Based Sales Associate/Analyst will be responsible for assisting business development, underwriting and relationship management teams in sourcing, underwriting and management of bilateral and syndicated asset-based credit facilities of $10.0 million and above.
- Assist Origination and Underwriting teams by spreading financial statements and determining risk ratings using bank software or templates and preparing projections models to help analyze and structure loans.
- Assist Origination and Underwriting teams by creating and updating loan request in the Bank’s loan production software.
- Assist Relationship team by monitoring and analyzing operating/financial performance and collateral trends using financial statements, field exams, appraisals, and borrowing bases.
- Assist Relationship team by updating loan requests for existing customers in the Bank’s loan production software.
- Provide industry research and create and update prospect and client information in various proprietary databases.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements
- Education: B.A. Degree Required; Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business preferred.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in Commercial Lending and/or Asset Based Lending is preferred.
- Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, good understanding of financial statements, strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, strong Excel and basic modelling skills.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES
Required annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers. This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position will have a dedicated working space at South State premises.
TRAVEL
Travel may be required to visit customer and attend meetings as needed.
