Description

Commercial Kitchen Equipment Service Technician

If You Can Fix It, We Probably Need You.

Restaurants have a funny way of needing their equipment to actually... work. Fryers need to fry. Ovens need to heat. Coolers need to cool. And when they don't, that's where you come in.

We're looking for a Service Technician who knows their way around commercial kitchen equipment and enjoys figuring out why something isn't doing what it's supposed to do.

You'll work directly with restaurants, hotels, hospitals, and other commercial customers to diagnose problems, make repairs, perform preventative maintenance, and β€” whenever possible β€” keep equipment from ruining somebody's day.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Diagnose and repair commercial cooking, refrigeration, warewashing, and other foodservice equipment

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues without immediately blaming the machine πŸ˜‚

  • Read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation

  • Perform preventative maintenance to catch problems BEFORE the Friday-night dinner rush

  • Work directly with restaurant and hospitality managers to get their equipment back up and running

  • Manage your daily service calls and work independently in the field

  • Document your work so everyone knows what you fixed and why

  • Participate in an emergency on-call rotation, because unfortunately equipment has no respect for nights or weekends

  • Occasionally travel overnight when needed

  • Earn quarterly bonuses by meeting efficiency and productivity goals

What You Need

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • At least 1 year of technical experience in refrigeration, appliance repair, commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC, or military technical service

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

  • Mechanical aptitude and solid troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work independently without someone looking over your shoulder all day

  • Willingness to participate in the on-call rotation

  • Ability to occasionally travel overnight

  • Ability to work in the U.S. without employer-sponsored immigration assistance

Even Better If You Have

  • Commercial refrigeration experience

  • Commercial cooking equipment repair experience

  • EPA, CFESA, or other relevant technical certifications

  • Experience working directly with restaurant or foodservice customers

  • The ability to look at a piece of broken equipment and think, "Yeah, I can figure this out."

The Not-So-Glamorous Part

This is a hands-on field job. You'll need to be able to kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, reach, climb, and occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds.

Depending on the call, you may encounter hot kitchens, cold freezers, rooftops, ladders, steam, open flames, heated surfaces, electrical components, damp conditions, and equipment that apparently chose violence that day.

In other words: this is not a desk job.

What's In It for You?

🚐 Company service vehicle + fuel card β€” because we're not asking you to turn your personal vehicle into a service van.

πŸ“± Company phone + computer β€” the tools you need to do your job.

πŸ’° Quarterly bonus opportunity β€” your productivity and efficiency can put additional money in your pocket.

πŸ› οΈ Training & certifications β€” continue building your technical skills with ongoing training and opportunities for advanced certifications.

πŸ“… Independence β€” spend your day in the field managing your service calls rather than sitting in an office.

πŸ₯ Benefits β€” comprehensive benefits including 401(k), pension, and paid time off, with eligibility beginning upon your start date.

πŸ“ˆ Room to grow β€” opportunities to advance into senior technician and leadership positions.

Bottom Line

If you're mechanically inclined, good at troubleshooting, comfortable working independently, and would rather fix equipment than sit behind a desk talking about fixing equipment, we'd like to talk to you.

Bring the technical skills.

We'll bring the service van. πŸ”§
