Description

SAE Industry Technologies Consortia (ITC), Performance Review Institute (PRI) and SAE International (SAE), deliver shared solutions to industry's common challenges.

Join us and create a higher standard for a better world.

At SAE International, we collaborate to build a bright future for aerospace – a future that is innovative, sustainable, and safe.

Can you help us? We’re looking for the latest addition to our talented, dynamic team.

The Aerospace Standards Committee Manager plays a vital role in driving the success of SAE’s global standards development efforts. In this role, you’ll work directly with technical committees and industry leaders to support the development, maintenance, and promotion of critical aerospace standards that advance safety, innovation, and global collaboration.

As the primary point of contact for assigned technical committees, you’ll manage the standards development process, guide committees through key operational and strategic decisions, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures. This role offers the opportunity to engage with global industry leaders through up to 40% travel - including international destinations - to support and manage mission-critical technical committee meetings. This role combines project management, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and operational execution, offering variety and meaningful impact in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll join a collaborative, mission-driven team that values strategic thinking, customer service, and continuous improvement. If you're organized, proactive, and thrive working with technical experts on complex projects, this is an opportunity to make a difference.

  • Use metrics, industry knowledge, and committee data to assess committee health, identify growth opportunities, and drive continuous improvement

  • Collaborate with colleagues across SAE—including product, content management, legal, marketing, and sales—to ensure efficient standards development from initiation to publication

  • Provide administrative oversight for SAE’s Standards Systems Groups and support committee use of SAE platforms, policies, and tools

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance committee operations and overall program efficiency

  • Hire, supervise, and assign work to editorial consultants and subcontractors as needed

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal partners, industry associations, and external organizations to support committee activities and strategic partnerships

  • Promote the work of SAE technical committees through presentations, industry engagement, and targeted outreach efforts

  • Assist in developing marketing strategies to advance committee visibility, participation, and usage of SAE standards
