The Sr Technical Trainer oversees the creation, coordination, and evaluation of technical, role‑specific, digital‑system, and compliance training—ensuring instruction meets required standards and supports technician proficiency, job qualification, and continuous improvement. This position maintains clear and proactive communication with leadership, providing status updates, identifying trends, and recommending improvements through data‑driven insights. Additionally, the role ensures that all training—whether instructor-led, hands‑on/OJT, or digitally delivered—is executed with consistency, accuracy, and safety, reinforcing a strong learning culture that supports reliable performance, regulatory adherence, and operational excellence.The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, design, and implementation of cutting-edge technical training content and materials.
- Deliver on-site and remote technical training sessions to customers.
- Collaborate with product management, engineers, and program managers to gather content and ensure training accuracy.
- Provide expert advice on technical training materials and programs.
- Collect and analyze feedback from training participants to continuously improve training programs.
- Develop and implement evaluation criteria to assess and optimize the effectiveness of training programs.
- Maintain and update training content to ensure it remains current and relevant.
- Coordinate the administration and management of the Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technical trainers.
- Contribute to strategic projects and initiatives related to technical training development
- Contribute and provide data in support of internal and external audits.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in technical training or a related field.
- Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of related experience is required.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Proven experience with Technical Training, to include Part 145 MRO Operations, Adherence to DCMAI 8210.1, OSHA, AS9100, IPC-620, and other regulator bodies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to train and mentor others.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate training and compliance records.
- Commitment to staying current with industry systems, software, and regulatory requirements.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot system or process issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation technology, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Prior experience in an aircraft maintenance or modification environment highly desirable
- An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Qualifications We Prefer:
- FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) ratings (highly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of 14 CFR Part 145, Part 43, Part 65, and relevant FAA Advisory Circulars related to maintenance, preventive maintenance, and technician qualification requirements
- Familiarity with SNC’s Repair Station Manuals, Quality Management System (QMS) processes, and SNC’s Repair Station Training Manual and training program requirements
- 5+ years of experience in technical training, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead capacity
- Experience developing and conducting technical, compliance, digital systems, and role specific training for technicians in an MRO/Repair Station environment• Ability to evaluate technician qualifications, identify gaps, and execute training needs assessments and OJT programs
- Demonstrated experience supporting safety programs, hazard identification, and ensuring maintenance training aligns with regulatory, QMS, and audit requirements
- Knowledge of safety inspection practices, maintenance process controls, and compliance verification
- Familiarity with digital aviation/maintenance systems, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and electronic training documentation processes
- Experience developing or delivering training related to digital systems used by technicians (e.g., electronic records, work instructions, digital maintenance systems)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with Operations, Quality, Safety, Engineering, and leadership stakeholders
- Ability to collaborate with multiple sites and functions, supporting training consistency across locations
- Prior participation in FAA AMT Employer Award program or other professional aviation training initiatives
- Experience conducting audits, evaluations, or internal reviews related to maintenance training and compliance
