Position Summary
We are seeking a Staff Audiologist to join our hospital’s multidisciplinary Audiology and ENT team. This role provides comprehensive diagnostic and consultative audiologic services for infants, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, collaborative, and committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care in a dynamic medical environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Diagnostic Evaluations — Perform age-appropriate hearing assessments including behavioral audiometry, tympanometry, acoustic reflex testing, otoacoustic emissions, and electrophysiologic measures (ABR, ASSR).
· Newborn Hearing Screening & Follow-Up — Conduct screenings and diagnostic evaluations for infants referred from the hospital’s newborn hearing program.
· Electrophysiologic & Specialized Testing — Complete diagnostic ABR/ASSR evaluations across the lifespan; support vestibular assessments as part of ENT services (training available).
· Interdisciplinary Collaboration — Partner with otolaryngologists, pediatric specialists, speech-language pathologists, and other clinical teams to coordinate care.
· Patient & Family Counseling — Provide clear, developmentally appropriate education regarding hearing status, communication strategies, and follow-up recommendations.
· Clinical Documentation & Compliance — Maintain accurate EMR documentation and adhere to hospital, state, and professional standards.
Qualifications
· Master’s or Doctoral degree in Audiology (MA/MS, AuD, or PhD).
· Current New York State Audiology License (or eligibility).
· ASHA CCC-A or ABA certification preferred.
· Experience with pediatric and adult populations strongly preferred; new graduates with strong pediatric rotations are welcome.
· Strong diagnostic skills and comfort working in a medical environment.
Preferred Skills
· Proficiency with pediatric behavioral testing techniques.
· Experience with electrophysiologic testing (ABR/ASSR).
· Familiarity with cochlear implant candidacy evaluations (training provided).
· Strong interpersonal communication and counseling skills.
