About Contrario
Contrario (YC W25) is building an AI-powered recruiting marketplace that connects elite startup recruiters with fast-growing companies through software and operational tooling. We've raised $2.5M from Y Combinator and Nexus Venture Partners, with angels from Hudson River Trading, Stanford, and OpenAI. Our customers include 250+ companies — Decagon, Listen Labs, and Wispr Flow to other category-defining unicorns — hiring across engineering and GTM roles.
The Role
We're hiring our founding Customer Success Manager to own the relationships that make the marketplace work. Taking over a meaningful slice of our existing book of accounts, managing both the customers and the top-earning recruiters who serve them. As you ramp, you'll run product demos independently, and onboard new customers.
What You'll Do
- Own customer accounts. Manage a portfolio of customers and their open roles from onboarding through successful hires. Become their main point of contact and execute all internal workflows
- Manage our best recruiters. Own relationships with a concentrated group of the highest-performing recruiters on Contrario — people earning meaningful income through the network — and help them consistently make placements.
- Run demos and onboard new customers. Learn to independently run product demos, understand hiring needs, close straightforward opportunities, and transition new customers directly into account management.
- Keep the marketplace moving. Chase down stalled searches, unblock recruiters, handle unhappy customers, identify accounts that need attention, and escalate the right things quickly.
- Expand accounts. Know customers well enough to identify new roles and additional hiring needs naturally.
About you
- Experience in Customer Success, Account management or equivalent at a startup — you're used to moving fast and handling high volume
- Grindy and high-agency, with strong written and verbal communication
- Comfortable managing a high volume of relationships and inbound requests at once
- Background in a talent marketplace, staffing, or recruiting environment is a strong plus, but not required
- Community-builder or creator-economy backgrounds are also a great fit
- 3+ years of relevant experience
Compensation
- Base salary: $120K–$135K
- Quarterly bonus: up to $10K per quarter ($40K/year), tied directly to revenue performance across your accounts.
- Equity: 0.2%-0.4%
