Work Schedule:  Schedule will vary within operating hours.  8-10hrs/day (OT as needed)

Landfill internal operating hours: Monday - Saturday. 6:30 AM. - 6:00 P.M.

Starting Pay at: $21.85/Hour

The Transfer Station Customer Service Attendant serves as the first point of contact for customers disposing of solid waste at our facility. Responsible for the efficient and effective estimation of load quantities, collection of appropriate fees for waste disposal, support for recycle yard operation, and the maintenance of positive customer relations at the Transfer Station.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

First point of contact for trucks coming onto our site, directing traffic, and ensuring a safe working environment. Communicates clearly with customers regarding pricing, disposal requirements, and directing them where to drop material. Ensures incoming waste is safe to dispose of and does not contain inappropriate material. Accurately measure loads, properly calculate and communicate charges. Proper cash handling, credit card transactions, and completion of daily reconciliation worksheet. Communication through radio and written communications. Accurate reporting of daily car counts and load volumes Ability to learn operating new Equipment/ Forklift, Leaf Blower, and Pressure Washer Yard and facility maintenance, including paper picking, keeping yard clean and presentable. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Specific duties can change on the daily basis as operation needs change.

​REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Drivers License with Clean Driving Record (Required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Competent in basic math, including handling money and calculating volumes.
• Knowledge of hazardous materials, bloodborne pathogens, and emergency procedures.
• Punctual, dependable, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of light equipment operation and maintenance a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises
• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to climb onto and into vehicles for purposes of load inspection, and move around the facility.
• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
