Your role

  • Lead the delivery of high‑quality projects, setting clear expectations and building trusted relationships with clients through proactive engagement and exceptional service.
  • Support and develop emerging talent, contributing to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture where people can grow and thrive.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to help shape and strengthen a high‑value, profitable service offering that reflects our commitment to technical excellence, innovation, and client outcomes.
  • Apply strong commercial and contractual understanding—particularly of the NEC suite—to ensure projects are delivered with rigour, clarity, and commercial discipline.
  • Bring a proactive, commercially minded, and purpose‑driven approach that consistently adds value for clients and enhances the reputation of our business.
  • Lead the commercial management of projects, packages or defined workstreams, ensuring robust cost control, forecasting, reporting, change management, and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage client, contractor, and stakeholder relationships, providing clear commercial advice and supporting the successful delivery of project outcomes.
  • Manage procurement, tendering, valuation, payment, cost assurance, risk, and final account activities in line with contractual requirements .
  • Provide technical and contractual leadership, including the application of NEC contracts and infrastructure-sector commercial processes, while promoting commercial best practice across the team.
  • Support, mentor, and review the work of Quantity Surveyors and early careers colleagues, helping to build capability, confidence, and consistent delivery standards.

About you

  • Member, or working towards membership, of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or equivalent recognised professional body, with experience supporting and developing junior colleagues.
  • Experience operating in client-side and/or contractor-side commercial environments, with the ability to manage the commercial delivery of complex infrastructure projects, packages or workstreams.
  • Strong knowledge of cost planning, estimating, procurement, contract administration, change control, valuation, forecasting, and final account processes.
  • Good working knowledge of NEC contracts, infrastructure-sector procurement, and commercial management processes, with the confidence to provide clear, practical commercial advice.

Security clearance

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance.  If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.
