About the Opportunity 

Our Digital & Information group have an exciting short term (up to 30 Jan 2027) opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager – Cyber & Digital Performance to join our established Digital Utility Team. 

Digital & Information is responsible for digitally enabling Urban Utilities today and digitally transforming future capability to enable provision of digital services to our customers, community and people. The group is accountable to formulate and execute Urban Utilities’ digital & data strategy, deliver Urban Utilities digital portfolio and provide day-to-day operations of information technology (IT), operating technology (OT), data, and the Internet of Things (IOT), including security, infrastructure management, system administration, network operations, and support services. 

Reporting to the General Manager Digital Utility, this role is accountable to set the direction for robust security, risk and performance management within Urban Utilities information technology (IT), operating technology (OT), data, and the Internet of Things (IOT) environments. 

Leading a diverse team of professionals, this role is responsible for developing the framework that informs how the Digital & Information group will manage its digital services to achieve performance and risk aspirations. In doing so you will set the digital objectives that will be used as target states in the digital & data strategy to create Urban Utilities future information technology (IT), operating technology (OT), data, and the Internet of Things (IOT) environments.  

You will ensure Urban Utilities and its digital and data practices and environment comply with regulations and legislation through creating and governing an authorised environment by setting policies and standards, authorising user privileges and approving new technologies.  

Your will govern digital risk, measure Urban Utilities performance and develop strategic partnerships with relevant cyber security regulators and business stakeholders and provide advice on Urban Utilities security direction, risk reducing projects and resource investments. 

Success in this role will be measured by how well risk and performance is operationalised and governed within Urban Utilities information technology (IT), operating technology (OT), data, and the Internet of Things (IOT) environments to meet Urban Utilities risk and performance appetite. 

About You 

• Bachelor's degree in business, risk or computer science, complimented by significant industry knowledge and experience. 

• A relevant qualification in CISM, CRISC and/ or CISSP qualifications would be advantageous.  

• At least 15 years of experience in cybersecurity, focusing on systems, processes, and challenges. 

• Proven track record in providing strategic guidance for cyber risk management and policy development. 

• Highly desirable: ISC2 and CISSP certifications. 

• Strong professional network with cybersecurity peers in other organizations. 

• Knowledge of the water sector or similar industries, including digital transformation roles. 

• Expertise in digital technologies across ICT, OT, data, and IoT domains. 

• In-depth understanding of critical control methodologies in digital and data environments. 

• Proven experience running a similar multi-function unit in a large organisation, ideally with a customer centric model. This in particular applies to these domains: 

• Engaging with stakeholders to identify business requirements. 

• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and leading innovation in the technology space. 

• Leading, managing and directing a team of professionals in the design of end-to-end solutions in a complex environment. 

Performance of ‘on call’ duties are an inherent requirement of this role. This requires that the employee must be available to be on-call and to attend to work matters, both in person and remotely, outside of normal working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, as reasonably required to fulfill the requirements of the position. The days, times, duration and frequency of on call arrangements may be subject to change, including at short notice, as required by Urban Utilities’ operational needs as applying from time to time. At all times whilst on-call, you must be fit for duty, contactable, and able to respond, including the ability to physically attend if required, to the operational needs of the business within a reasonable timeframe and in a safe manner.
