Hotel Engineer Supervisor $25-27/hr

POSITION PROFILE

The Engineering Supervisor oversees the hotel’s daily maintenance and engineering operations. This position supervises engineering staff, coordinates work orders, performs and oversees preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensures hotel facilities and equipment are safe, functional, and well maintained. The Engineering Supervisor works with other departments to promptly address maintenance needs, support guest satisfaction, and maintain compliance with safety standards

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES

• Assist the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer in the supervision of the Engineering staff; interview, recommend hiring, train, schedule, prepare payroll, coach and counsel, make recommendations to performance evaluations and discipline as needed.
• Assign work orders to staff; monitor progress and results.
• Monitor, control and report on the energy conservation programs.
• Responsible for all life/safety systems including fire, elevators, disasters and emergency lighting and generating systems.
• Maintain all motors and control circuits.
• Arrange for proper trash removal and recycling.
• Purchase equipment and supplies. Maintain pars.
• Maintain audio systems within the hotel.
• Perform the duties of a Class II or III Engineer as needed.
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Participate in hotel committees and task force assignments

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• One to two years of post-high school education; one or two-year certificate program in building maintenance, technology or related field.
• Minimum of five years of building maintenance experience in a leadership role or a related management position.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Flexible Schedule - able to work days, evenings and weekends

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Lift/Push/Pull/Carry - up to 50 -75 plus lbs. supplies, equipment and machinery.
• Bending - required to perform inspections and repairs frequently throughout shift.
• Kneeling- required to perform inspections and repairs frequently throughout shift.
• Continuous movement throughout hotel required to respond quickly to emergency.
