Human Resources Manager
Location: Teterboro, NJ
Salary: $80,000–$115,000 annually
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager for a cosmetics industry facility in Teterboro, NJ. This position will oversee day-to-day HR operations and partner closely with facility leadership and employees to support a positive, compliant, and productive workplace.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on HR management experience within the cosmetics, beauty, personal care, pharmaceutical, consumer products, or a closely related regulated manufacturing environment, along with a strong understanding of New Jersey employment practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day Human Resources functions for the facility
- Serve as a resource to employees and management regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace matters
- Manage employee relations, including coaching, counseling, investigations, corrective actions, and performance-related matters
- Support recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and employee retention efforts
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation
- Partner with management on workforce planning, staffing needs, employee development, and performance management
- Support benefits, leave administration, workers' compensation, and other HR programs
- Assist with the development, implementation, and consistent application of company policies and procedures
- Promote a professional, respectful, and compliant workplace environment
- Handle additional HR-related responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
- Prior Human Resources management or senior-level HR experience required
- HR experience within cosmetics, beauty, personal care, pharmaceutical, consumer products, or a closely related regulated manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of New Jersey and federal employment laws and HR compliance requirements
- Experience handling employee relations and workplace investigations
- Experience with recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and corrective action processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus
