Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in overseeing packaging construction and delivery to cost and timing requirements.
- Assists in resolving transit damage and material handling related issues.
- Assists in the introduction of new/changed packaging into production (procedure development & training).
- Assists with designs (AutoCAD/IDEAS) and validation of packaging/storage containers.
- Assists with obtaining packaging related quotes, completing capital approval forms, and issuing purchase orders.
- Communicates packaging information effectively by updating program status reports, publishing packaging review meeting minutes, maintaining NasApps fields, writing deviations, etc.
- Assist with investigations on all packaging related Ideas Pay suggestions as required and provides feedback.
- Coordinate the development and build of racks with the Rack Shop Personnel.
- Writes, tracks, and dispositions V.I.D.’s.
- Initiates shipping requests, completes customer required shipping documents, packages or coordinates packaging of sample packaging.
- Create packaging photo files for use on shared drive.
- Ensures the Continuous Improvement department is acting in the safest manner possible - participates in conducting monthly safety audits.
- Maintains an acceptable attendance record.
- Assists in the trouble shooting for manufacturing problems related to packaging, facility layouts and product flow.
- Participates in improvement teams, concern resolution reports (8D) and other formal problem solving and improvement activities relating to packaging issues. Takes a leadership role in many cases.
- Participates in department initiatives - e.g. business plan development / execution, procedure development, QOS.
- Assist in new product quotations.
- Participates in department meetings.
- Completes documentation of activities as required.
- Submits cost reduction and innovation ideas.
- Performs other tasks as assigned. Maintains a clean and safe work area
- Communicate/Network with all processes/departments to relay pertinent pre-production information.
- Assists with verification of conformance of supplier packaging.
- Assist with writing deviations.
- Assist with writing ECN's.
- Assist in troubleshooting Warehouse Management System issues.
- Assist in developing and updating building drawings and layouts for work areas.
- Three years at technician level position in manufacturing with closely related
- experience to the "Essential Functions." One year continuous work experience.
- Past job duties requiring problem solving, computer applications and following technical instructions.
- Must have the ability to read blueprints, understand and sketch 3D drawings.
- Must have good math, written, and verbal skills.
- Must have good computer skills and working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Must have the basic understanding of SPC, control charting, and capability studies.
- Must have a forklift operator’s license or be able to obtain one.
- 2-year Technical Degree
- Must be making progress towards a 4 year degree in an Engineering related field
