Engineer (Structural, Mechanical, Product Support)

Description

ICM Solutions is a growing, multi-state organization with a strong regional footprint and a leading reputation for delivering exceptional equipment and service solutions across the industrial, crushing, and mining markets. We design and build the structures and equipment that make crushing and screening plants work: crusher stands and towers, conveyors, hoppers, chutes, catwalks, and stairs. Some of it is repeat work we have built many times. Some of it is designed from scratch for one customer and one site. And some of it starts as a phone call from a field technician standing next to a broken part.

We are seeking an engineer who covers all three. You will size structures, design conveyors and other material processing equipment, redraw worn components from field photograph, etc. Your drawings go straight to our own shops, so you will hear directly from the people building your work, and you will be expected to work and troubleshoot with our fabrication team.

What You'll Do

• Design and calculate structural steel for stands, towers, catwalks, stairs, hoppers, and chutes
• Select and size mechanical components: drives, sheaves, belts, bearings, shafts, takeups, guarding
• Lay out conveyor arrangements, transitions, and chutework on routine scope, working to the Application Engineer’s direction on critical scope
• Produce complete, shop-ready fabrication drawings and bills of material
• Support the shop floor through fabrication: answer questions, process changes, resolve fit and weld issues
• Reverse engineer and redraw replacement parts for field service, often from photographs and a tape measure
• Contribute reusable details back to our standard library so the next job starts further along
• Visit shops and customer sites for verification and field measurement

Requirements

What You Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Three or more years designing fabricated steel structures or equipment that actually got built
• Fluency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) and the ability to produce clean 2D fabrication drawings without handholding
• Working knowledge of AISC steel design, weld symbols, and AWS D1.1 fundamentals
• Ability to size mechanical components from catalogs and first principles
• Comfort creating bills of material and working in an ERP system
• Willingness to work from incomplete information and ask the right questions to fill the gaps

• CEMA conveyor design familiarity
• Custom or job-shop fabrication background rather than high-volume production
• FEA for validating weldments and structures
• PE or EIT
• Experience reverse engineering parts from field measurements

About the Work Environment

• This is an on-site job at our facility in Murray, Utah.
• Travel (10-15%) will be required to our shops and customer sites.
• Site work means active quarries and plants: PPE, ladders, elevated structures, and dust.
