Reports To: Director of Athletics / Assistant Director of Athletics

Compensation: $6,000 Seasonal Stipend + Campus Perks (Meals, Gym, Pool)

What You’ll Do & Create

As our Head Coach, Varsity Men's Golf, you will lead the Varsity Golf program to ensure a cohesive, high-quality experience for all student-athletes.

• Foster a High-Belonging Team Culture: Inspire student-athletes to prioritize sportsmanship, team success, and mutual respect on and off the course. Help players navigate the balance between rigorous academic workloads and competitive athletics.
• Lead Practice & Player Growth: Plan and execute skill-focused practices, short-game drills, course management strategies, and individual technical feedback to advance swing mechanics and mental toughness.
• Manage Match Days: Accompany and supervise the team during home and away matches. Handle match management, score tracking, and school van transportation for away events, modeling poise and sportsmanship course-side.
• Oversee Program Operations: Manage team equipment and uniforms, post match results to the league website, and maintain clear, timely communication with families and athletic department leadership.

Who You Are (Core Qualifications)

• Coaching / Golf Experience: Prior golf coaching or competitive playing experience at the high school (grades 9–12), club, or collegiate level.
• Great Communicator: Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to connect authentically with high school athletes, parents, and coaching colleagues.
• Adolescent Mindset: A genuine passion for youth sports and an intuitive understanding of high school student development, positive motivation, and mentorship.
• Reliable & Committed: Ability to commit to a full spring seasonal schedule across all weekdays, practices, and match days.

Required / Preferred Certifications (Can be completed upon hire):

• CIF Coaching Certification
• CPR / First Aid / AED Certification
• Concussion in Sports Certification
• Sudden Cardiac Arrest & Heat Illness Certifications
• Valid Driver's License & Clean Driving Record (for team van transport)

Schedule & Availability Needs

• Full-Season Availability: Must be available Monday through Friday during the Spring athletic season (typically February through May).
• Practices & Matches: Weekday afternoons from 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM (or dependent on local golf course tee times).
• Match Travel: Ability to drive school vans and travel to away golf courses (departing as early as 1:30 PM and returning around 7:00 PM).
• School Events: Attendance at the Pre-Season Parent Meeting and Post-Season Athletics Awards Banquet.
