What you'll do...

Position: Senior Data Scientist

 

Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089

 

Duties: Develop sophisticated modeling systems to drive innovative business solutions for Walmart eCommerce, especially in the areas of personalization, marketing, and recommendations. Design, implement, and deploy advanced statistical models and scale them for multiple tenants. Perform predictive modeling and quantitative analysis and apply statistical techniques. Build advanced statistical/analytical models to evaluate trends and significant data relationships. Utilize modern methods for parallelized processing of large, distributed datasets (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, MapReduce). Collaborate in a fast-moving cross functional environment with the ability to collaborate with other teams over common product goals. Communicate technical concepts to articulate ideas, architectural design and understanding, explainability of results, and present work at reputed conferences.

 

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field and 1 year of experience in an analytics related field; OR Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field and 3 years of experience in an analytics related field.

 

Skills required: Experience with machine learning techniques, including Regression, Classification, Ensemble Methods, and Deep Learning. Experience with development using Python and Bash Scripting. Experience designing and implementing end-to-end deep learning systems with PyTorch and Keras. Experience with big data processing and management using Hive and Spark. Experience with data visualization using Matplotlib and Seaborn. Experience with cloud platforms, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for cloud-based development and Kubernetes for container orchestration. Experience with version control and collaboration tools: GitHub and Jira. Experience analyzing and managing relational databases using SQL. Experience conducting research and publishing findings. Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or professional experience with the required skills.

 

Salary Range: $144,402/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
