Construction Superintendent | Ground-Up Multifamily | South of Boston
Build it your way.
We're recruiting a Lead Superintendent for a multifamily Developer/General Contractor south of Boston.
This isn't a role where you're one of ten Superintendents on a roster. You'll be the Superintendent. From groundbreaking to Certificate of Occupancy, the job is yours.
Even better, construction hasn't started yet. Groundbreaking is a few months away, giving you the chance to get involved early, plan the site, establish your standards, and set the project up the way you believe it should be run - not inherit someone else's problems.
Why experienced Supers make this move
If you're at Suffolk or another large GC, you already know the upside - and the downside.
The projects are impressive, but decisions can take weeks, meetings fill your calendar, and you are one of many in a large organization so there’s little room for you to shine.
This is different.
You'll report directly to the VP. He's accessible, makes decisions quickly, and trusts his field team to run the work. There are fewer layers, less bureaucracy, and far more autonomy.
If you like owning your jobs instead of asking permission to run them, you'll probably enjoy this environment.
The project
You'll lead construction of a new 170-unit mixed-use apartment community featuring retail and residential space.
The project includes:
- Full sitework and utilities
- Wood-frame on slab
- Built to the Massachusetts Passive House energy code
This isn't just another apartment building.
Passive House construction demands exceptional planning, coordination, and attention to detail. Once the building envelope starts going up, mistakes become expensive. Your ability to review drawings, identify conflicts early, and coordinate subcontractors will have a direct impact on the project's success.

Why this role exists
This is a brand-new position.
You're not walking into a troubled project or replacing someone who left.
Our client has spent years developing this project. Design, permitting, and preconstruction are complete. They're now building the construction team that will deliver it.
The honest tradeoff
This isn't a 300-person construction company.
You won't have a large support staff behind you.
You'll wear more hats, solve more problems yourself, and make more decisions.
In return, you'll have more influence, more ownership, and more opportunity to leave your mark on the project, and you won't be running from jobsite to jobsite.
When this building is complete, people will know who built it.
What you'll do
- Lead the project from breaking ground through Certificate of Occupancy
- Build and manage the construction schedule
- Coordinate subcontractors and maintain project momentum
- Drive quality, safety, and production
- Work closely with the Project Manager and VP
- Hire and mentor your own Assistant Superintendent
- Keep communication flowing between the field, office, and ownership team
What we're looking for
- Lead Superintendent experience on a ground-up multifamily project from start to finish
- 10+ years of Superintendent experience
- Massachusetts CSL
- OSHA 30
Nice to have
- Construction Management degree
- Passive House certified
- Experience with Trimble ProjectSight
