All About You
The Energy Storage System Bid & Application Manager is responsible for defining the overall technical solution (application role) and manage all ESS Bid activities, from customer requirements analysis, to bid process deployment (including costing strategy define and contract analysis) up to the handover to Operation team. He/she will interact with various multi discipline professionals: Sales & Service team, project & operations, Legal, financial, purchasing etc and will be in contact with customer representatives in support to Sales Manager.
The position is to be located in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Minimum 6 years working experience with 5 years proven bid management experience in Turnkey proposal Management/Negotiation with utilities, IPPs, Developers or industrial projects with per project values exceeding $10 million dollar
- Proven experience managing or coordinating internal personnel, engineering resources, estimating personnel, procurement and construction contractor
- Proven experience with electrical engineering or application engineering for the sizing/ application part of the job.
- Demonstrated and advanced knowledge of the REN energy market. Storage will be a plus.
- Ability to work accurately and quickly under pressure in a dynamic environment: Hands-on mind-set, high energy.
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Proven ability to drive the tendering process from plan to close.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer requirements and ensures Saft offer is adequately qualified accordingly to mitigate scope gaps.
- Deploy and adjust answer strategy taking in account the inputs from the Sales & support functions (Marketing, Service)
- Trigger tender kick-off as well as contribute to various tendering processes (Go/No Go; Bid/No Bid/ Offer Review)
- Propose total project proposal bid amount, including direct costs, subcontractor/vendor costs, overhead, other costs, contingencies, and scope exclusions.
- Establish a technical offer from a Solution Point of View (not product) that will address customer Business Case
- Provide technical support to sales force on energy storage projects, including integration of Li-ion solutions with power electronics and renewable generation assets. Understand and formalize customer needs and specifications. Ensure adequacy of Saft solutions to customer requirements. Formulate Saft position on subjects like cycling, lifetime, availability, etc...
- Propose of all necessary bid procedures, governance and processes/tools to ensure the compliance of our offer and minimize Tendering time to establish it (Costing sheet, Standard Offer, Suppliers Panel & Reference prices…)
- Analyze the Risk on the Tender and Interact with Legal & Tax + propose in association with the Sales & Operations the Mitigation plan
- Solicit and obtain quotes (coordinating with Purchasing) for subcontractors (PCS, EMS, Cabling, Installation, Civil Works, Switchgear).
- Draw up a solution leading to optimum tender cost in order to end up a profitable order.
- Support the Sales in the negotiation, notably for the contractual aspects.
- Transfer the Offer to the Operation Team and Take part in the Return Of Experience meeting following successful or failed tenders
- Deploy Company Tendering Process and Tools (CRM Dynamics, ect.. ) and Ensure sharing of Best Practices within the team
