Description

- There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Customer Services, Public Communications Division.
- There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Planning and Permitting, Land Use Permits Division.
- Independently review, evaluate, and process complex forms, records, and documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with established requirements.
- Research information from paper and electronic records, organize findings, and prepare clear summaries and reports.
- Create, edit, and manage documents using word processing and other office software.
- Provide information to staff and the public by explaining policies, procedures, and requirements clearly and professionally.
- May guide, train, and review the work of clerical staff to support efficient office operations.
- Other duties as assigned for the position.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
Substantially equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may substitute for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Two (2) years of clerical experience.
- Knowledge of office practices and procedures
- Knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling, and word usage
- Knowledge of filing methods and systems
- Ability to keep records, summarize and analyze materials, and prepare reports
- Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment
- Ability to give and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to deal with others in an effective and tactful manner
SUBSTITUTION
Business school or college-level credits from an accredited college or university will substitute for experience on a month-for-month basis for the required clerical experience.
