Groundskeeper

The essential function of the position within the organization is to assist in maintaining the grounds of the golf courses.  This position is responsible for basic landscaping and course upkeep.   The position works under general supervision according to some procedures.Setting tees, including removing trash, moving markers, filling divots, and cleaning tees.
 
Setting up greens, including repairing ball marks, cleaning greens, cutting cups and moving pin locations, plugging.
 
Maintaining bunkers, including using mechanical devices, hand-raking, edging, removing runners, and using blowers.
 
Maintaining the Clubhouse area, including mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and trash pick-up.
 
General landscaping, including planting, mulching, weeding and annual plant removal.
 
Blowing debris, including leaves and grass clippings.
 
Sodding turf via hand cutter, laying, and hand watering.
 
Basic mowing, to include walk-behind mowers and clean-up laps.
 
Equipment utilized: turf utility vehicles, walk-behind mowers, bunker rakes, edger, blower, sod cutter, and trimmers.Requires high school diploma, GED, or specialized vocational training.
Requires valid Driver’s License.
Prefers at least three months of related experience (golf course or landscaping).PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical demands refers to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
 
Requires medium to heavy work involving standing or walking all of the time, stooping, lifting, pushing, digging, raising objects, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force on a regular basis, 50-100 lbs on an occasional basis, and moderate dexterity and skill in operating machinery or tools.
