Description

At San Francisco University High School, we believe that the deepest learning requires collaboration among people who embody a diversity of backgrounds, beliefs, experiences, and perspectives. In order to build and sustain a community that is composed of a wide range of social and cultural identities, we must continually engage in furthering our self-knowledge, equity literacy, and ability to communicate effectively across differences. We challenge ourselves to do this work on both a personal and institutional level, recognizing that our community is part of a larger and more complex world.

San Francisco University High School is a college preparatory school. We seek employees who are thoroughly educated in their disciplines, who are devoted to the love of learning, and who will contribute to the school's invigorating intellectual climate. Throughout the school, we seek to hire adults who are stimulating and supportive in their work with students and who share our belief in the moral and educational value of diversity.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Decorator Showcase Executive Director, the Decorator Showcase Events and Operations Manager will use their knowledge and skills in non-profit fundraising to lead several high-profile fundraising and donor events for the school.

This position plays a pivotal leadership role in orchestrating the Decorator Showcase, the school’s premier design fundraiser, which has raised over $21M for the Financial Aid Program.

In this role, you will design and execute a diverse array of community and design events—ranging from volunteer kick-offs to high-end galas. Collaborating closely with volunteer Co-Chairs and Committee Chairs, you will lead a large volunteer committee, drive fundraising workstreams, and implement creative strategies for donor cultivation and stewardship. Due to the relational nature of this role, it will predominately be an on site and in person role.

  • Project Management: Create detailed work plans, map out team assignments, monitor milestones, and ensure flawless, end-to-end event execution.
  • Logistics & Experience: Oversee registration strategy, event logistics, and on-site operations to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
  • Production & Collateral: Lead the creation of event materials, scripts, briefings, and the annual Program Book.
  • Post-Event Analysis: Define success metrics, gather attendee feedback, and analyze event outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
  • Committee Leadership: Partner with volunteer Co-Chairs to manage, motivate, and direct a large volunteer committee and contingent event staff.
  • Relationship Building: Act as a key liaison, building trust and rapport with central development staff, vendors, parents, alumni, students, and designers.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate cross-departmentally to build, monitor, and manage complex program budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
