How you’ll make an impact:
During non-backup days/shifts, employees in the Backup Yard Driver position are expected to perform the regular duties of the respective position. The Backup Yard Driver is responsible for organizing the yard area to ensure trucks and trailers are ready for unloading, loading, and transport.
This role typical reports into the Operations Supervisor and is based in our Stockbridge Distribution Center.
75%: Daily Operations
Place full trailers/containers into the receiving dock doors and move empty trailers/containers to the loading dock doors.
Place empty trailers/containers into the loading dock doors and seal and remover loaded trailers.
Must be able to seal trailer.
Maintain tracking log for trailer moves and dock assignments.
Coordinate traffic with Loss Prevention/Security.
Maintain tracking log of yard inventory.
Conduct audits of yard Inventory.
Responsible for observing housekeeping, safety and C-TPAT compliance in assigned area of responsibility; Stay within compliance of the company policies regarding safety.
Support the Coordinator/Supervisor in all duties as assigned including all operational areas of the Distribution Center
Perform other tasks as assigned, including general distribution warehouse functions.

Must have:
Team player willing to perform various job duties to support the department and the facility objectives and key performance indicators.
A customer-service orientation willing to exceed the expectations our customers.
Ability to lift to 50 pounds repetitively, scan with RF equipment, bend, twist, and be on your feet for shifts up to 12 hours long.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others (Supervisors, Managers, and peers).
Flexibility to work overtime and comply with blackout periods (no vacation or personal time allowed) during peak periods.
Preferred skills and experience:
Efficiently handle tasks to include material handling and stock movement.
A valid state-issued drivers’ license and a good driving record.
1-2 years’ experience operating equipment in an automated, fast-paced distribution environment preferred.
