Job Description Summary
The Senior Global Supplier Quality Leader is a high-impact, strategic role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end quality ecosystem within the global supply chain. This position drives the deployment of robust supplier quality processes, prevents non-conformities, and ensures that quality standards are upheld from the Inquiry-to-Order (ITO) phase through Erection & Commissioning. This leader serves as a global ambassador for quality, aligning local Quality Management Systems (QMS) with corporate standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction across a complex matrix environment.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Global Leadership & Supplier Management
- Provide leadership for incoming goods inspection and management, ensuring global suppliers adhere to rigorous quality benchmarks.
- Drive product qualification at supplier premises using standardized global tools and methodologies.
- Identify and analyse supplier performance trends, leading improvement initiatives in coordination with Sourcing and Engineering teams to remediate “bad actors.”, prioritise reduction of COPQ.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure the manufacturability of designs at supplier sites.
Quality Assurance & Risk Mitigation
- Lead risk analysis (ITO/OTR) by leveraging lessons learned from past projects to prevent recurring failures.
- Support DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) processes to drive proactive quality prevention.
- Champion 8D problem-solving methodologies and coach cross-functional teams in root cause analysis.
- Training and Coaching the PT supplier quality function to meet the current and future needs of the Customer and PT Business.
- Oversee customer audit processes, from preparation and support to action plan execution and follow-up
Quality Management System (QMS) & Compliance
- Align local QMS frameworks with global Grid Solutions and PTR standards.
- Develop, execute, and oversee the global internal audit program, ensuring findings are addressed with timely corrective actions.
- Establish and mentor a global network of qualified Internal Auditors.
- Lead quality training initiatives and ensure the integration of cyber-security management systems where applicable.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee governance of Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).
- Ensure measurement devices are calibrated and approved for use, maintaining the integrity of all quality records.
- Review and consolidate End-of-Manufacturing reports and support gate review processes (Design and Manufacturing).
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Proven experience in quality leadership, ideally within a global matrix environment.
- Certifications: QMS Lead Auditor qualification, (IRCA recognised) (ISO 9001 expertise required).
- Technical Skills: Deep expertise in prevention tools (FMEA, R&R, Cpk, 8D) and quality control techniques.
- Communication: Fluent in English with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Additional language skills would be beneficial.
