Job Description
The Associate will support the day-to-day operations of private equity funds and special purpose vehicles (SPVs), with responsibilities spanning fund accounting oversight, financial reporting, audit coordination, treasury management, investor reporting, regulatory reporting, and stakeholder communications. This role requires close collaboration with fund administrators, auditors, banks, investment professionals, co-investors, and limited partners (LPs) to ensure the smooth operation of the funds and compliance with internal and external reporting requirements. Good teamwork and communication skills will be key for success.
Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities
Assist with internal and external financial reporting processes, including coordination of timelines, supporting schedules and reporting deliverables
Coordinate with external fund administrator in preparing and distributing financial reports and other related materials
Work closely with the Fund Accounting team to support day-to-day fund accounting deliverables, review preparation, reporting coordination and follow-up matters
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and consistent communication of financial and corporate information
Support close coordination with the Investment team and Investment Operations team, particularly on matters relating to investment funding, transaction support, capital calls, distributions, liquidity planning and fund-level reporting
Assist in reviewing capital calls/distribution notices and Partner’s Capital Account Statements
Assist in reviewing financial statements, management accounts and quarterly NAV packages
Assist in managing overall fund liquidity, including coordinating the opening of bank accounts/custodian accounts/brokerage accounts, KYC queries from banks, execute fund related payment transactions, investor capital calls and distributions, funding of investments and day-to-day management of credit facilities with banks
Assisting with integration projects related to treasury and banking platforms, and coordinating with the Investor Services team on investor communication efforts
Supported the annual audit process for all SPVs and Funds, coordinating closely with the audit team to ensure timely and accurate completion of audit requirements
Provide ongoing support for investor requests on existing and upcoming fund launches
Provide ongoing support for regulatory reporting, investment holding schedules, portfolio summaries, and maintain portfolio databases and reporting records
Assist with various ad-hoc and special projects as required
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
Charted Accountant (CA) preferred
Prior experience at the Executive level (or equivalent), with minimum of 1-3 years of audit experience preferred
Public accounting experience (preferably with Big 4) and/or relevant corporate/in-house experience strongly preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
Meticulous, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, excellent communication and interpersonal skill, able to work independently, great attitude, highly motivated and a team player
