About Us:
The Financial Ombudsman Service is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that plays a vital role in UK financial services. Every day we help resolve disputes between consumers, or small businesses, and their financial service providers.
What You’ll Do:
As a technology product owner, you will play a key role in supporting our future, tech-enabled customer and employee journeys.
Working with one of our established platform owners, and building on the organisation’s strategy, vision, and digital goals, you will help create and mature the roadmap for our digital products: Ombudsman Connect and our Digital Front Door.
You’ll be a strong advocate of the value your product(s) can bring, always looking for ways in which it can support and enable the organisation, and helping wider colleagues understand these opportunities.
Partnering with our casework teams, our enabling functions, as well as technology colleagues (internal, and external suppliers), you’ll be adept at building strong relationships, and communicating effectively between all parties to ensure that what we deliver will really move us forward.
Understanding both how our applications function, and what drives our organisation, will be crucial to your role.
You’ll also have a strong eye for detail, and the confidence and judgement to decide when to exercise your authority, and when to escalate matters.
Together, you and your platform owner will ensure we have a vision for how to maximise the effectiveness of our technology products; shaping and delivering the changes that come your way and delivering products that make our people proud – and of a quality our customers would expect.
To be considered for this role, you’ll need to show us that you’ve got the skills and capabilities. You’ll have to meet the following minimum criteria:

Experience of working with other product or platform owners to deliver meaningful product change through both internal and external delivery teams
Experience of working with all levels of governance, and stakeholders (including senior leadership and technology colleagues)
Evidence of aligning technology changes with operational challenges to unlock improvements for customers/ colleagues
