[What the role is]
Science Centre Singapore is dedicated to the promotion of interest, learning and creativity in science & technology through imaginative and enjoyable experiences, and to contribute to the nation's development of its human resource.We are looking for a highly organized, dependable individual to join the Management Team as a Assistant Director. He/she will be responsible for all phases of construction lifecycle from initiation to completion.
[What you will be working on]
As an Assistant Director, NSC Building Project, the ca0ndidate is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the entire development work for the New Science Centre (NSC) building project including the subsequent handover and defect rectification phase. This position will be assisted by the Public Project team from JTC who has been appointed the Project managers by the government. The JTC team brings on board all technical expertise needed in a building project to assist the Centre in the execution of this project.
The incumbent will ensure the project is completed on time and within budget as well as ensuring that the necessary safety standards and procedures required are met. He/She will monitor the Building Process and ensure compliance of IM (Instructure Manual), Safety and Security Standards. He/she is expected to work out contingent plans in case of delay in project for whatever reasons.
[What we are looking for]
He/she should have minimum a Bachelor or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Building and Project Management or equivalent professional qualifications who is well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures. Good track record and experience in completing building projects.
Minimum 7 to 10 years of relevant working experience in Building & Project Management, of which at least 4 years in a managerial and supervisory capacity.
Other Skills / Abilities
The candidate should have good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, the capacity to juggle multiple demands and able to tend to emergencies outside of normal working hours.
He/she must be a good team leader and has value qualities such as being professional, with initiative, passion and quality service in all aspects of interaction with both internal and external customers.
