We are seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to lead the daily operations of our Pre-Delivery Centre and ensure every vehicle is prepared to the highest standards before delivery to Brisbane BMW and MINI, Westside BMW and Volvo Cars Brisbane North.
The Opportunity
As Workshop Controller, you will play a pivotal role in the performance of our workshop operations. Working closely with technicians, quality control specialists and dealership stakeholders, you will oversee workflow, drive productivity and ensure vehicles are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
Reporting to the New and Used Car Reconditioning Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining operational excellence while fostering a high-performing and engaged team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate daily workshop operations to achieve delivery targets and business objectives.
Allocate work effectively across the technician team to maximise productivity and workshop efficiency.
Monitor vehicle progress and proactively resolve operational or technical issues.
Ensure all vehicles meet brand, quality, safety and compliance standards prior to delivery.
Maintain accurate workflow management, WIP control and operational reporting.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes and enhance performance.
Coach, support and develop technicians to achieve high-quality outcomes.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all WHS policies and procedures.
Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders to support seamless operations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Proven experience as a Workshop Controller, Senior Technician or similar leadership position within the automotive industry.
Strong knowledge of vehicle reconditioning, pre-delivery operations and workshop processes.
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build productive stakeholder relationships.
Sound mechanical knowledge, with a trade qualification highly regarded.
Experience working with premium automotive brands will be highly regarded.
A proactive mindset and commitment to delivering exceptional quality and customer outcomes.
