Position Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- Entry-level physical therapists must be graduates of a physical therapy program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education or from a college or university approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- CAPTE-accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education-Active State License (any U.S. state)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Minimum of Two Years of Experience within the last three years as a physical therapist
Key Responsibilities:
As a Physical Therapist in this role, you will:✔ Assess patients for physical deficits and functional limitations.✔ Develop individualized treatment plans to enhance mobility, strength, and overall well-being.✔ Utilize data-driven techniques to create effective therapy programs.✔ Apply therapy techniques tailored to each Veteran’s unique condition.✔ Recommend & Evaluate adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs, canes, and braces.✔ Provide specialized physical therapy treatments, including:
- Therapeutic exercises
- Neuromuscular re-education
- Gait analysis and training
- Functional activity training
- Pain prevention and management
- Adaptive equipment assessment and prescription
- Electric modalities (hot/cold packs)
- Wound and lymphedema care
- Pelvic health therapy
- Aquatic therapy
- Wheelchair seating and positioning
