Description
Beloit Health System is adding to our Beloit Memorial Hospital Float Pool with an opening for a Registered Nurse Weekender at Beloit Memorial Hospital.
- Sign-On Bonus: Yes
- Shift: 1st shift- Weekends
- Schedule: 7a-7p
- Hours per week: 48 hours per 2 week pay period

In this position the Registered Nurse Weekender will provide primary nursing care to patients in medical surgical, oncology, joint replacement, family care and intermediate (cardiac step down) units. The Registered Nurse Weekender will monitor telemetry, administer medications and manage continuous IV medications for patients with cardiac and or medical/surgical conditions.
The Registered Nurse Weekender:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery from a variety of medical or surgical conditions.
- Administer intermittent and continuous IV medications and monitor condition changes to optimize patient recovery and accurately documenting in the EMR.
- The staff nurse plans, coordinates, supervises and provides care for clients throughout their life span within the framework of the well/illness continuum. This includes optimal service in a cost-effective manner.
- Appropriately assesses basic physical, psychological and social needs of patients and their families.
- Effectively plans patient care and consistently implements the patient's plan of care.
- Accurately evaluates patient's health status in relation to outcomes of nursing interventions/medical therapies.
- Provides patient/family education appropriately.
- Strictly adheres to infection control policies including body substance isolation and blood born pathogen precautions.
- Actively participates in Quality Improvement program.
- Performs unit specific duties according to established unit-based competencies.
- Completes documentation according to policy.
- Effectively sets goals and priorities for provision of care to a group of patients according to acuity.
- Ensures patient safety while handling, transporting and providing medications to patients; protects patients from various hazards, falls, disease exposure, etc.
- Demonstrates ability to perform functions accurately and efficiently with computer software application appropriate to position. Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- ADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN degree acceptable.
- State of Wisconsin nursing licensure, compact license or temporary permit required. (If a compact license, application for a State of Wisconsin nursing license must be initiated in no more than 30 days from start date).
- Must be CPR certified within 3 months of hire, ACLS & ASLS within 1 year of hire.
- Telemetry experience is helpful.
- Must be flexible to work across multiple units.
- Availability to work consistent weekend schedule.
