BASIC FUNCTION

Provide Engineering Design support to business units in Wiring Harness and Switchgear systems, managing projects individually as well as in a team environment while ensuring adherence to timeline and quality requirements.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Project Analysis & Planning

• Analyse project requests, define scope, timelines, and technical requirements.

 

• Technical Expertise & Design Execution

• Design and develop genset wiring harness (engine harness, control panel harness, battery & power cables) using Creo Cabling.
• Develop and review electrical schematics and Single Line Diagrams (SLD) for control panels and power systems.
• Perform LV switchgear design including component selection (ACB, MCCB, relays), protection schemes, and panel layouts (PCC/MCC).
• Ensure proper integration of wiring harness, control panels, and switchgear systems.
• Work with CAD tools (Creo, AutoCAD, SEE Electrical) and PLM/ERP systems (Windchill, SAP).
• Maintain knowledge of alternators, breakers, control panels, and genset systems.
• Ensure design for manufacturability and serviceability.

 

• Project Prioritization & Problem Solving

• Prioritize multiple projects in coordination with stakeholders.
• Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills for efficient project execution.

 

• Project Execution & Delivery

• Execute projects ensuring scope, quality, and timelines are met.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve technical issues proactively.
• Drive design improvements and cost optimization initiatives.
• Support complex projects and mentor junior team members.

 

• Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain project documentation, time logs, and progress updates.
• Ensure accuracy and timely reporting of all project activities.

 

• Process Compliance & Improvement

• Follow established processes and contribute to process and design standard improvements.
• Ensure adherence to organizational standards and best practices.

 

• Development & Culture

• Continuously upgrade skills in wiring harness, switchgear, SLD, and schematics.
• Promote organizational values and teamwork.
