Description

Role Summary

The AI Portfolio & Prioritization Lead reports directly to the AI Strategy & Realization Lead within PGS Data, Analytics & AI Transformation. This role owns PMO management across the AI Strategy & Realization team, providing the portfolio discipline that ensures the right work is being prioritized, resourced, and delivered against strategic value.

The role owns intake and prioritization of projects and programs across all pillars of the AI Strategy & Realization team, sequencing work based on strategic alignment, value, and capacity. It manages financial tracking for the full portfolio, and partners with the PGS Data, Analytics & AI Transformation portfolio team and the Spark team to ensure PGS is applying consistent intake, value realization, and inventory standards across all teams.

The leader captures, tracks, and holds pillar teams accountable for value realization, and partners with the PGS and Digital Responsible AI team to ensure the portfolio adheres to compliance and governance standards, including AIRIF, DPAL, and ITRM. By bringing rigor and visibility to portfolio sequencing, this role enables the AI Strategy & Realization team to focus effort on the initiatives that matter most and demonstrate the value they deliver.

Role Responsibilities

  • Own PMO management and portfolio sequencing across the AI Strategy & Realization team, reporting directly into the AI Strategy & Realization Lead on portfolio health and priorities.
  • Lead prioritization and intake of projects and programs based on strategic initiatives and value, establishing a consistent, transparent process for evaluating and sequencing new and in-flight work.
  • Partner with the PGS Data, Analytics & AI Transformation portfolio team and the Spark team to ensure the AI Strategy & Realization team is utilizing the same intake, value realization, and inventory standards used across PGS.
  • Manage financial tracking for the portfolio of projects across all pillars of the AI Strategy & Realization team, maintaining an accurate, current view of investment and spend.
  • Capture, track, and hold pillar teams accountable for value realization, ensuring benefits are defined, measured, and reported consistently across the portfolio.
  • Partner with the PGS and Digital Responsible AI team to ensure the portfolio adheres to compliance and governance standards, including AIRIF, DPAL, and ITRM.
  • Maintain a single, current inventory of AI Strategy & Realization initiatives, providing leadership-ready reporting on status, risk, and resourcing across pillars.
  • Identify capacity constraints and competing priorities across the portfolio, and escalate trade-off decisions to the AI Strategy & Realization Lead and pillar leaders as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with at least 6 or more years of experience; OR a master’s degree with at least 5 years of experience, OR a PhD with at least 1 year of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience running a PMO, portfolio management function, or project intake process within a large, matrixed organization.
  • Working knowledge of prioritization and value realization frameworks, with the ability to translate strategic priorities into a sequenced, resourced portfolio.
  • Experience with financial tracking and reporting for a multi-project or multi-program portfolio.
  • Ability to partner effectively with adjacent portfolio, governance, and compliance teams to align standards and ways of working across organizations.
  • Familiarity with AI/analytics governance and compliance concepts, with the ability to work with frameworks such as AIRIF, DPAL, and ITRM.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to hold stakeholders accountable without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Pfizer colleague network, particularly across PGS, Digital, and Data, Analytics & AI Transformation, with a track record of forming partnerships to accomplish common goals in highly complex areas.
  • Experience with Pfizer's portfolio, intake, and value realization standards, including familiarity with the Spark team's ways of working.
  • Familiarity with Pfizer's responsible AI and technology risk/compliance frameworks (e.g., AIRIF, DPAL, ITRM).
  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or supply chain operations.
  • Proven program or portfolio management capability, with experience successfully executing initiatives across large, globally distributed teams.

Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel or Environment Requirements

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the year.
  • Willingness to work off-hours to accommodate global time zones and support pillar teams and stakeholders across sites.
  • Willingness to work extended or non-standard hours during peak periods, such as portfolio planning cycles, financial reporting deadlines, and value realization reviews.
