Description
The Chevron Gulf of America (GOA) Business Unit's Deepwater Operations is accepting online applications for the position of Experienced Electrical Technician rotating out of Galliano, LA through November 1st, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
This position will assume the responsibility of safely monitoring, troubleshooting, repairing and optimizing a wide array of electrical equipment associated with offshore oil and gas production operations. A key aspect will be ensuring all electrical, process & rotating equipment operates at peak reliability and efficiency by reviewing trends to determine optimal performance.
The successful candidate(s) will work on a multi-skilled offshore operations team filling roles in basic producing operations on GOA deepwater facilities. Members of the offshore operations team will work on a 14 & 14 rotational schedule and will be expected to work both day shift and night shift during a 14-day rotation. The assignments could be on any Gulf of America deepwater production facility operated by Chevron.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Actively support Health, Environment, and Safety processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices, maintaining a safe working environment, and being prepared to respond to an environmental or safety event.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain wide array of electrical equipment associated with offshore oil and gas producing operations; including but not limited to: Electrical motors, Electrical switchgear and motor control centers, Distribution transformers, Lighting systems, Diesel and Turbine Generators and associated controls, DC and UPS systems, Support systems, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems
- Gather, prioritize, and assist with the scheduling of electrical maintenance projects.
- Drives use of sound Reliability Engineering concepts and principles.
- Utilization of SAP to create work orders for inventory and work planning/prioritization.
- Partner with other employees and contractors to ensure that all equipment is operating at peak efficiency.
- Assure all work performed adheres to Chevron's Operational Excellence standards and regulatory requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years recent (no more than two-year absence) electrical experience in the petroleum and/or chemical industry.
- Ability and willingness to work a 14 & 14 offshore rotational schedule, 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination
- Ability to perform troubleshooting and maintenance of electronic instrumentation, and electrical equipment associated with process systems.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree with a GPA of 2.5 or higher in electrical or electronic, instrumentation or petroleum technology or Military rank of E4 with Military Occupational Specialty in Instrumentation, Electrical, or related discipline.
- Five plus year's recent (no more than two-year absence) electrical experience in the oil, gas and/or chemical industry.
- USCG licensing considered a plus
- Experience working at Chevron-operated GOA deepwater facility

Relocation will not be considered.

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
