Our Commodities & Energy Trading practice is growing, and we are looking for (Senior) Managers (m/w/d) to join our team in Düsseldorf or Munich.
As a (Senior) Manager, you will lead or deliver complex management consulting engagements for clients across commodity and energy trading, build trusted relationships with senior decision-makers and help grow our practice. You will combine deep industry expertise with consulting and leadership skills, taking accountability for client outcomes, team performance and commercial development.
We work with leading commodity and energy trading organisations, utilities and large energy consumers. Our work spans strategy, operating model and process design, trading transformation, commercial optimisation, risk and regulation, flexibility integration, and technology delivery.
This is an opportunity to advise influential organisations on strategic priorities and deliver meaningful change across trading operations, commercial performance and new technologies, while playing a visible role in building our German and European business.
What you will be doing
You will take responsibility for delivering complex client engagements, leading project teams, building trusted client relationships and contributing to the growth of our Commodity & Energy Trading practice. The breadth of your responsibilities will reflect your experience and the level at which you join. Areas of work include:
- Client leadership and delivery: Build trusted relationships with executive and senior client stakeholders, translate strategic priorities into practical programmes whilst owning complex engagements or major programmes from shaping through delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes, strong governance and effective management of scope, risk and commercials.
- Leadership & Business Development: Identify and shape opportunities, lead proposals and pitches, develop propositions and account plans, and contribute to business development, revenue growth and capability building. Strengthen our market profile through thought leadership, external networks, sector insight and collaboration across Baringa capabilities and geographies.
Depending on your expertise, your client work may include:
- Operating model & business transformation: Leading trading operating model and business transformation engagements, helping clients optimise governance, processes and organisational structures to deliver sustainable operational change.
- Digital & trading transformation: Delivering data, analytics and AI-enabled transformation initiatives, helping clients improve trading decision-making, operational efficiency and commercial performance.
- Trading systems transformation: Leading ETRM/CTRM transformation engagements, supporting strategy, implementation and optimisation initiatives while aligning business and technology stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
- Flexibility services & integration: Leading the delivery of flexibility strategy and integration engagements, helping clients unlock value from battery storage, renewable assets and enabling technologies across evolving energy markets.
- Risk and regulatory advisory: Advising clients on risk and regulatory challenges, enhancing risk management frameworks, governance and controls while supporting adaptation to evolving market and regulatory requirements.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for experienced professionals who combine management consulting experience with strong knowledge of commodity and energy markets, ideally within energy and commodity trading or trading transformation. - A track record of building trusted relationships with senior and executive stakeholders and influencing complex decisions.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, including shaping opportunities, leading proposals or pitches, and converting client needs into valuable work.
- Experience leading, coaching and developing project teams.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on delivery.
- Professional proficiency in German and English.

Putting People First.
Baringa is a People First company and wellbeing is at the forefront of our culture. We recognise the importance of work-life balance and flexible working and provide our staff amazing benefits. Some of these benefits include:
- Generous Annual Leave Policy: We recognise everyone needs a well-deserved break. We provide our employees with 5 weeks of annual leave, fully available at the start of each year. In addition to this, we have introduced our 5-Year Recharge benefit which allows all employees an additional 2 weeks of paid leave after 5 years continuous service.
- Flexible Working: We know that the ‘ideal’ work-life balance will vary from person to person and change at different stages of our working lives. To accommodate this, we have implemented a hybrid working policy and introduced more flexibility around taking unpaid leave.
- Corporate Responsibility Days: Our world is important to us, so all our employees get 3 days every year to help social and environmental causes and increase our impact on the communities that mean the most to us.
- Wellbeing Fund: We want to encourage all employees to take charge and prioritise their own wellbeing. We’ve introduced our annual People Fund to support this by offering every individual a fund to support and manage their wellbeing through an activity of their choice.
- Profit Share Scheme: All employees participate in the Baringa Group Profit Share Scheme so everyone has a stake in the company’s success.
