Job Description

The Senior Special Projects Consultant – Fraud & Operations serves as a senior strategic and execution partner supporting Fraud and Operations leadership across high-priority initiatives, executive communications, business management activities, and risk-related projects.

This role leads complex, often ambiguous assignments requiring the ability to quickly understand business issues, organize cross-functional work, synthesize large amounts of information, and translate operational, financial, risk, and strategic information into clear executive-level messaging and actionable plans.

The position will provide significant support for Chief Administrative Office (CAO)-related activities, including preparation of executive presentations, QBR and MBR materials, leadership updates, business reviews, and daily, weekly, and monthly reporting. The role may also lead or support risk, regulatory, change-management, process-improvement, and other special initiatives across Fraud and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Projects & Initiatives

  • Lead complex, cross-functional projects and special initiatives supporting Fraud and Operations priorities.
  • Structure ambiguous business problems, establish workplans, identify dependencies, and drive initiatives from concept through execution.
  • Coordinate across Fraud Strategy, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and other business partners as appropriate.
  • Identify risks, barriers, dependencies, and decisions requiring leadership attention and drive them toward resolution.
  • Develop recommendations and decision materials for senior leadership.

CAO & Executive Support

  • Support CAO-related requests, deliverables, planning activities, and organizational priorities, consistent with the CAO coordination responsibilities reflected in the current Fraud organization.
  • Develop and coordinate executive-level materials for: Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR)Monthly Business Reviews (MBR)Executive and leadership meetings Strategic planning sessions Daily, weekly, and monthly business updates Ad hoc executive requests
  • Translate complex business information into concise executive narratives highlighting performance, risks, decisions, trends, and actions.
  • Establish consistent reporting standards, messaging, and executive presentation quality across Fraud and Operations.

Business & Operational Management

  • Partner with leaders to consolidate operational performance, initiative progress, emerging risks, and key business developments.
  • Develop leadership-ready summaries of accomplishments, challenges, dependencies, decisions, and upcoming priorities.
  • Coordinate recurring business-management routines and ensure leadership materials provide an integrated view across functions.
  • Drive follow-up on executive decisions, commitments, and action items.

Risk & Change Management

  • Lead or support risk-related special projects involving operational risk, technology risk, controls, audit/exam readiness, regulatory or policy change, remediation, and other emerging business needs. These areas align with responsibilities already represented within the Fraud organization.
  • Evaluate business and operational impacts of proposed changes and coordinate appropriate stakeholder engagement.
  • Support development and execution of change-management strategies for significant organizational, process, technology, or operating-model changes.
  • Help identify gaps, dependencies, and execution risks before they impact delivery.
  • Serve as a consultative partner connecting business strategy, operational execution, and risk considerations.

Scope / Level of Complexity

This role should be differentiated by:

  • High ambiguity: Expected to take loosely defined executive asks and independently create structure and direction.
  • Enterprise/cross-functional scope: Regularly works across multiple organizations and senior stakeholders.
  • Executive exposure: Frequently develops materials for senior executives and business reviews.
  • Independent judgment: Determines the appropriate approach with limited direction.
  • Ownership: Accountable for driving significant initiatives, rather than primarily coordinating assigned tasks.
  • Strategic synthesis: Expected to understand what senior leaders need to know, not simply aggregate information supplied by others.
  • Risk complexity: Capable of managing assignments involving multiple risk, control, regulatory, technology, or operational considerations simultaneously.

Basic Qualifications
- Master's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Ten or more years of experience in project management activities

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Significant experience in project/program management, business management, operations, financial services, fraud, risk, strategy, or related disciplines.

  • Strong executive communication and storytelling skills, particularly development of senior leadership presentations and business reviews.
  • Advanced ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative information into executive-level conclusions and recommendations.
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel capabilities.
  • Experience working with operational performance reporting, risk and control environments, or change-management initiatives.
  • Ability to influence and drive outcomes without direct authority.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority assignments simultaneously
