Position Overview
We are seeking two Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join the team in International Falls, Minnesota.
In this role, you will provide direct nursing support to healthcare providers in an outpatient clinic environment, assisting with patient assessments, clinical procedures, medication administration, patient education, and daily care coordination within the LPN scope of practice. The clinic operates with a one-nurse-per-provider staffing model, allowing nurses to work closely with their assigned providers while maintaining continuity of care for patients. Nurses may also assist other providers and clinical staff within the clinic as needed.
This opportunity is ideal for an LPN who enjoys outpatient nursing, values consistent daytime hours, and thrives in a smaller, community-focused healthcare environment. The position offers flexible scheduling with either four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts, no weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities, and the opportunity to develop strong working relationships with providers and patients in a rural healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care and clinical support to patients receiving services.
- Work closely with an assigned healthcare provider to coordinate patient visits, clinical workflows, and daily patient care activities.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, current medications, and relevant clinical information.
- Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and minor outpatient procedures.
- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with patient examinations, diagnostic procedures, and clinical treatments.
- Administer medications and perform nursing interventions in accordance with provider orders, facility protocols, and the Minnesota LPN scope of practice.
- Monitor patient conditions, identify changes in health status, and communicate relevant findings to the assigned provider or supervising nurse.
- Perform appropriate clinical procedures, specimen collection, and other nursing tasks based on training, competency, and provider direction.
- Provide patient and caregiver education regarding medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and follow-up instructions.
- Coordinate patient referrals, follow-up appointments, and continuity-of-care activities as assigned.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation using Epic EMR.
- Follow established infection prevention practices, patient safety protocols, and applicable healthcare regulations.
- Float within the clinic to assist other providers, nurses, and clinical teams when additional support is needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and administrative staff to maintain efficient patient flow.
- Support routine clinic operations, including examination room preparation, supply management, and maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment.
- Promote a positive patient experience through compassionate communication, professionalism, and attentive nursing care.
